Common questions
How long before I can paint new plaster?
Fresh skim needs to dry fully before decorating — typically a number of days to a couple of weeks depending on thickness, the time of year and ventilation. It is ready when it has turned an even, light colour all over. Start with a diluted mist coat.
Can you skim over Artex?
In most cases, yes. Artex can usually be sealed and skimmed to give a smooth modern finish. We will assess the ceiling on site and advise on any preparation needed first.
Do I need to move furniture?
It helps to clear the room as much as possible. We sheet and protect floors and anything that cannot be moved, and leave the area clean at the end of each job.
